Biography
Sophie Bowman is a PhD student in modern Korean literature. Her research focuses on writing by women and the politics of the "woman writer" during the dictatorships in South Korea in the second half of the twentieth century. Her English translations of Korean literature, poetry, and literary criticism have appeared in various magazines and journals. Her latest book translations are Looking Back Life Was Beautiful (2020) and I'm Waiting for You (forthcoming in 2021).
